Taken summer of 2000.
I uploaded this picture a long time ago, but I ended up deleting it, because I didn't like the editing job. In light of the anniversary of September 11, 2001, I decided to re-edit it and resubmit it. I really think it deserves it. This sculpture, called "The Sphere", by Fritz Koenig, stood in the center of the Austin J. Tobin Plaza at the World Trade Center in New York City. It was meant to symbolize world peace, and I've always admired it. I've also always loved how I caught these two kids playing in front of it. It survived the attack on the towers, but with some structural damage. It's now displayed in Battery Park. [link] |
