Soooooo...

It's been, like, forever since I've written a journal entry. There's a good reason for that. Very little has happened. But, I suppose I could shed some light on some recent stuff.

I'm really enjoying my new SLR. I seriously love it. I think I named it...but I can't remember what. I think it's really taken my photography to another level that I wasn't able to achieve with my old camera. That's not to say I didn't like my old camera. After all, it got me some great pictures over the past few years. But the new one has opened up far more possibilities. For one thing, I've gotten a wireless shutter control, which lets me keep my shutter open for unlimited amounts of time if I so choose. I'm also looking into buying a telephoto lens, since I had such a good time using =discordant-melody's.

Speaking of old camera having given me gold, one of my photos ([link]) has been chosen as a finalist in the Photographer's Forum Magazine annual contest! That's exciting for me, because I never even get close to winning stuff.

I'm also going to have some of my photos published in my campus literary and fine arts magazine.

Lastly, I was lucky enough to take a road trip down to Washington DC in January to see President Obama's inauguration. It was really quite cool, and a once in a lifetime sort of thing. I got a lot of pictures, but none are particularly post-worthy, so I don't think you'll be seeing any.

I suppose that's pretty much it for now. I'm pretty busy with school, so I haven't had much time to shoot anything new, let alone edit anything. Hopefully I'll get around to it, even though I know I always say that. I've still got pictures from fall that haven't been touched. Hopefully, I can get my deviantART traffic back up a little. I think because of my inactivity, it has kind of dwindled. I guess I'll just have to blow your minds. =)

I bet the inauguration was impressive. I remember coming in from college and it was on the tv, so I just sat down to watch it.

Looking forward to seeing pictures with your SLR :)

it's a lens that lets you zoom in from rediculously far away. it kinda helps give you macro shots.

thanks love. I'd love to win, but i doubt that. i'd be honored just to get honorable mention!
